Ammie Hayes

CEO & Founder

As the CEO and Founder of Plan My Way, I lead with a deep passion for innovation in disability services, drawing on over 15 years of frontline and leadership experience across the sector. My work is grounded in ethical practice, strategic vision, and a commitment to human-centred support. I am driven by the belief that systems should serve people—not the other way around—and that true support begins with dignity, flexibility, and respect.
My professional background spans diverse roles in disability, mental health, and crisis response—including support work, respite coordination, SIL housing, and senior leadership. I have built Plan My Way from a one-woman operation into a thriving registered NDIS provider, with teams supporting participants across Queensland and New South Wales. What began as AIH Supports during the challenges of the 2020 COVID lockdown has since evolved into the broader My Way Collective—a unified yet diverse group of services designed to give people real choice, transparency, and control over their lives.
As both a professional and a parent to neurodiverse children, I bring a lived understanding of the importance of accessible, flexible services. I hold qualifications in community services, leadership, and counselling, and I am committed to continuous professional development, especially in trauma-informed care, psychosocial recovery, and governance under the NDIS Practice Standards.
In my role, I personally oversee participant intake, team recruitment, and strategic service design to ensure every part of our organisation reflects our core values: empowerment through connection, flexibility and inclusivity, and encouragement through community. I actively lead the development of internal frameworks, from policy and audit compliance to marketing, branding, and quality assurance.
I am proud to have passed the NDIS Quality Audit with no non-conformities, built an exceptional team of coordinators and operational staff, and mentored emerging leaders within the business. My leadership approach is collaborative and transparent, with a strong focus on governance, professional development, and service integrity.
I confidently meet the capability requirements for executive leadership under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and am committed to ensuring that Plan My Way, and now the My Way Collective, continues to be a leader in ethical, innovative, and impactful service delivery for individuals and families navigating the NDIS.

General Manager

As the General Manager of Plan My Way, I bring a strong commitment to ethical leadership, operational excellence, and participant-centred service delivery. My role is critical in ensuring the organisation's strategic objectives align with the NDIS Practice Standards, national compliance frameworks, and the core values that underpin our work with participants, their families, and the broader community.
I hold a Bachelor of Psychology and a Certificate IV in Human Resources, which provide a strong foundation in human behaviour, organisational management, and workforce development. These qualifications, combined with my lived and professional experience, equip me to lead with insight, empathy, and strategic clarity.
My background in mental health services includes roles as a Peer Worker, Transition Officer, and Provisional Psychologist. These roles have given me a comprehensive understanding of recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and person-led support planning. This experience ensures I bring a nuanced and compassionate approach to supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities and complex needs.
With extensive experience in disability services management—including governance, team leadership, quality assurance, and compliance—I am well-positioned to lead My Way’s Collective's operations and strategic growth. I bring a practical understanding of the NDIS landscape and demonstrate this through effective overarching oversight of services.
I actively engage in ongoing professional development and sector engagement to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of best practice. My leadership style is inclusive and collaborative, promoting a high-performing, values-aligned team culture. I take responsibility for upholding participant rights, enhancing service outcomes, and maintaining transparent, ethical governance.
I confidently meet the capability requirements for executive management under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s expectations, and I contribute meaningfully to My Way Collective’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities through authentic, ethical, and impactful supports.

Our Story

Where lived experience meets bold innovation.

My Way Collective was born from a simple, powerful idea: there has to be a better way.
For years, our founder, Ammie Hayes worked within traditional systems that too often prioritised policies over people. Frustrated by rigid structures, gaps in service, and a lack of genuine connection, she set out to build something different—something human. What started in 2020 as AIH Supports, during the heart of the COVID lockdowns, became Plan My Way: a small, values-driven organisation built around dignity, choice, and flexibility.
From the start, Plan My Way focused on personalised support, inclusive team culture, and real outcomes—not box-ticking. Ammie’s lived experience as a single mum, carer, and survivor of trauma gave her the insight and fire needed to change the system from the inside out. Alongside General Manager Sarah Johnston who brings her own lived experience, and a growing team of dedicated Support Coordinators, the organisation quickly became known for doing things differently.
But as the team grew, so did the vision.
Plan My Way’s success revealed a broader need for an integrated, ethical model that could offer multiple services without sacrificing participant choice or control. And so, My Way Collective was born—a carefully structured umbrella for high-quality, person-led services across four key branches:
  • Plan My Way (Support Coordination & Recovery Coaching)
  • Support My Way (In-home & Community Support)
  • Home My Way (Domestic & Lifestyle Services)
  • Restore My Way (Trauma-Informed Recovery & Community Projects)
Each branch operates independently, yet collaboratively, allowing participants to access diverse services without conflict of interest and with complete transparency. Whether you're looking for hands-on personal care, coordination, housing navigation, life skills, or trauma recovery, the Collective ensures you're supported in a way that honours your goals and values.
Today, My Way Collective is home to a growing team of professionals—many with lived experience—who are trained, governed, and supported through internal systems that promote safety, quality, and ethical practice. We offer services across Queensland and New South Wales, with both in-person and remote options available.
We’re proud of where we started. But even more excited about where we’re going.
This is your way.
This is My Way Collective.
